Do you continue using the factory inner recoil spring, or does this replace both?
Feb 9, 2024, 10:23It reuses the inner as stated in the listing, this only replaces the outer spring.

Regarding: 13 lb Outer Recoil Spring for Ruger® LCP® MAX Pistols ($10.50)
Does this make racking the slide more difficult or harder?
I have bad wrists and not sure I want to make the slide harder to rack.
Thanks in advance!
For Ruger LCP MAXOct 24, 2022, 13:44It will increase the rate so it will have more resistance to cycling yes.

I have noticed on the videos that the slide does not go all the way forward even when racking the slide to load a round, so will the heavier spring help with this?
I know your spring upgrades on my LCPII solved all its issues & made it a joy to shoot. Thanks.Sep 6, 2022, 10:03The higher rate will help push the round into the chamber and return the slide to battery. Make sure the pistol is clean and lubed of course just like normal with use of the higher rate spring.

It sounds like a good deal. I’m only skeptical because I’m being told the higher weight of the 13lb would mean I’d have to have a death grip to make sure I don’t get a malfunction. Just curious about the specifics. Thank you
Aug 2, 2022, 09:57Not sure who would tell you that, if that were true a larger frame gun with more spring rate, more mass and a more powerful cartridge would not cycle for most folks. We wouldn't sale them for years now if they didn't work for performance gains. If you have issues with cycling due to grip now then no I would not suggest it but rather switching you to a revolver.

Jon LDec 1, 2023, 10:45Purchased & installed the Sigurd Max Short Trigger, 13lb outer recoil spring, stainless steel guide rod for the LCP Max. Noticeable improvement to trigger take-up and pinch/blister of OEM trigger, upon reassembly. Same immediate difference was noted with the outer recoil spring, when racking the slide. Looking forward to the performance results at the range. ***Must note: the instructional video is indeed too fast and doesn't point out key details of reassembly. Another YouTube install video was needed as a supplement, for myself as a first time gunsmith.

AllenJan 5, 2023, 19:51Works well, and fixed the going back into battery issue I was having while the gun was breaking in. It also seems to have damped down the recoil a bit.

David SAug 7, 2022, 21:36Really nice upgrade coupled with the stainless guide rod! One note though. Somehow I missed the memo that this spring must be used with the stock inner spring! Used alone it is a fail. The bag with the spring did not have any instructionsGalloway PrecisionAug 31, 2022, 10:12Sorry you were confused. The listing title does say Outer Recoil Spring and the description does say "Our Outer Recoil Spring replaces your stock outer recoil spring, which when combined with the stock inner spring gives you a 13lb recoil spring set up."

Bill LawsonSep 19, 2021, 22:39Been there done that and I'm not going back. I also added the Sigurd trigger and the stainless steel guide rod. I took it to the range and the gun was more comfortable, smooooooooother, and quicker to respond. It flawlessly cycled through almost a hundred rounds of five different brands of ammo. The LCP MAX is a great gun that is now even better. It is my pocket carry of choice loaded with Precision One's 90 Grain XTP Hollow Point ammo.
